DAY 27

THE LIFTER OF MY HEAD -Father God I praise you because you are a shield around me, O Lord; you bestow on me and lift up my head when I am weary or despised.

Psalm 3:3

 But thou, O LORD, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head. KJV

 But you, God, shield me on all sides; You ground my feet, you lift my head high; MSG

  But you, LORD, are a shield around me, my glory, the One who lifts my head high. NIV

But you, O LORD, are a shield around me; you are my glory, the one who holds my head high. NLV

 But you, O Lord, are always my shield from danger; you give me victory and restore my courage. GNT

 But in the dept of my heart, I truly know that you YAWEH, have become my shield: you take me and surround me with yourself. Your Glory covers me continually. You lift my head. TPT

David the psalmist is expressing his unwavering faith in God, He is declaring that the Lord is his shield, his glory and the one who lifts his head even in the face of adversity.

David likens Gods protective presence around him to be like a shield that defends against his enemies. David knew that God would  protect him when he was surrounded by his enemies.

David acknowledges that his source of honour and worth does not come from worldly possessions or achievement but from God alone! David calls God " My glory"  knowing God is his true source of honour and worth.

David trusts God will restore his dignity and honour, lifting him up from his current state of destress.

GOD AS OUR SHIELD - In times of difficulty and danger , we need to remember God is our shield, offering us protection and safety. Hs surrounds and defends us.

GOD AS OUR GLORY - We need to know our identity in who God says we are and not from earthy achievements or possessions.  Our value comes from God and his glory.

GOS AS THE LIFTER OF OUR HEAD - We need to remember God is the one who can lift up and restore our spirit when we feel low, discouraged or defeated.

W e need to build up a habit of trusting God in the small things, so that our confidence in him grows during difficult times. We need to have faith that God will never fail to shield, strengthen and defend us. God is a faithful God !
