Day 7

THE BURDEN BEARER

SCRIPTURE- Psalm 68:19

"Blessed be the Lord, who daily bears us up; God is our salvation. Selah" ESV

"Blessed be the Lord, who daily bears us up; God is our salvation. Selah" KJV

"Blessed be the Lord - day after day he carries us along." THE MESSAGE

"Blessed be the Lord , who daily bears our burden, The God who is our salvation. Selah." ASB

"Praise the Lord; praise God our saviour! For each day he carries us in his arms. Interlude" NLT

-"Praise the Lord; praise God our saviour! For each day he carries us in his arms. Interlude" NLT

-To bless the lord means to praise him, to worship him, to exalt him.

It means to speak of and declare his greatness from the depths of our soul, from the depths of our hearts.

-God walks with us daily and wants us to come to him daily. Once we have surrendered to Jesus, given our life to him once we have received salvation, this is not the end. For as long as we walk on the earth, we will daily need Gods salvation – "Blessed is the LORD who daily bears us up"

Our daily struggles and life's seasons can weigh us down but God wants us to come to him daily for strength, guidance, love and direction.

-God himself will bear us up. We need to look up to God!

-Psalm 121 says "I lift up my eyes to the mountains— where does my help come from? My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth. He will not let your foot slip— he who watches over you will not slumber; Indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. The LORD watches over you— the LORD is your shade at your right hand; the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night. The LORD will keep you from all harm— he will watch over your life; the LORD will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore."

"Day after day GOD carries us along" – How I think of all the times God has carried me.

Carried me through heart ach

Carried me through the valleys of my life

Carried me through grief

Continues to carry me through the valleys and grief

BUT……but he can only do this because I look up to him for strength, guidance, comfort, support, and peace.

SELAH – to pause and reflect, to praise and lift up

So we praise God, we worship and exalt him because he wants us to bear all our burdens upon him, he wants to carry us through life's journey – the mountain top experiences and the valleys.

Through faith, trust and past experiences we learn to depend on God more and more and surrender our burdens to him when we pause and reflect on all the times God has already carried us through the valleys.

So we praise him and lift our worship up to him because he is a faithful God who is always with us, always carrying us through life's journey.

Matthew 11:29

In Matthew 11:29, Jesus said, "Take my yoke upon you".

A yoke was made of wood, hand carved to fit the neck and shoulders of the animal to prevent pain or discomfort. In ancient culture, the word yoke was a term that was used to describe submission. Jesus meant that we are to submit ourselves to Him every day in every way. By doing so, we will find rest for our souls, because His yoke is easy and His burden is light.
