POWER - LOVE - SOUND MIND

2 timothy was written by the Apostle Paul to Timothy who was a young leader and Paul was his mentor. 

The book of 2 timothy is found in the New Testament.

This book is a letter to offer protection, advice and encouragement to Timothy in his ministry. 

Timothy was facing a difficult road ahead of him and Pauls letter is to offer encouragement to stay on course and continue on in his faith, and to focus on and continue to use the gifts God has given him, even if the road ahead becomes difficult.

2 Timothy 1:7 - FOR GOD HATH NOT GIVEN US THE SPIRIT OF FEAR BUT OF POWER AND OF LOVE AND OF A SOUNDMIND

God gave us a spirit not of fear
 Fear is not from God when we talk about fear of circumstances, fear of things around us, fear of things that may happen

There is a biblical sense in which we fear God and that's  because we understand  and fear God when we see his supremacy and we see his sovereignty - but that is when we realise we dont need to be afraid of earthly things .

This verse is talking about the fear we have in man and earthly human fears.
God is saying do not fear the things around you that you have no control over.
God has given us through his strength a spirit of power, love and self control.
We can be bold with humble confidence and power in the middle of our uncertainty in this world and in situations we cant control.
Our confidence is not found in ourselves or in our circumstances - it is found in God!
GOD WHO IS ALWAYS FAITHFUL AND POWERFUL
GOD GIVES US THE POWER TO FACE ALL CHALLENGES AND OVERCOME THEM!
