DAY 19 

2 CORINTHIANS 9:8

I praise you God , because you always protect me. My victory, who always leads me in triumphal procession in Christ

 "But thanks be to God, who in Christ always leads us in triumphal procession, and through us spreads the fragrance of the knowledge of him everywhere." ESV 

"Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place. " KJV

"And I got it, thank God! " THE MESSAGE

"But thank God! He has made us his captives and continues to lead us along in Christ's triumphal procession. Now he uses us to spread the knowledge of Christ everywhere, like a sweet perfume. " NLT

"God always makes his grace visible in Christ, who includes us as partners of his endless triumph. Through our yielded lives he spreads the fragrance of the knowledge of God everywhere we go. " TPT

- The triumphal procession of Christ is being described as looking like a roman victory parade where a General would lead his solders and captured enemies through the streets in triumph.

-Paul is saying that he expresses his gratitude in God, who always leads his believers in a triumphal  procession

-Paul is saying that God uses his believers to spread the knowledge of Jesus, like a sweet smelling fragrance

- The word fragrance is talking  about the positive impact of the Gospel, the sweet aroma to those who are saved

- The phrase " triumphal procession" highlights Gods victory and us as believers sharing in his victories

-God is the one who leads!

"THE LORD IS MY BANNER" -also known as "JEHOVA NISSI"

Meaning that God is the source of strength, victory and leadership. And we should rely on him for protection and guidance.

By calling God our banner we are declaring that God is our source of strength, and the one we should follow and trust in times of conflict and victory.

In ancient times banners were a symbol of authority, leadership and and a rallying point for an army or group. Meaning we need to go to God for direction, for guidance.. We need to have regular "check ins" with God through prayer. 

We need to seek Gods strength and victories in our daily life, our struggles and battles. 

Why does God provide this for us ?  Simply because he loves us !
